“O you who believe, prescribed for you, obligatory [for you], is the Fast, just as it was prescribed for those, communities, that were before you so that you might guard yourselves, against acts of disobedience, for, it [the fast] curbs the desires that prompt these [acts].” The Holy Qur’an 2:183
The Muslim holy month of Ramadan began on the 10th of August , the eighth month of the Islamic calendar, marking a time for Muslims to abstain from earthly pleasures and seek spiritual growth.
Ramadan mubarak to all of our brothers and sisters from all of us at Semazen.net May our fasting and prayers and other worship this month be pleasing to Allah. May He (SWT) make it easy for us and strengthen us by it. AMEEN
During the fast of Ramadan, your dust becomes gold,
Just as the stone was changed into collyrium, becomes better eyesight.
The morsel that you have eaten becomes waste,
But the patience that you have practiced becomes clear-sightedness.”
Hazrat-é Mawlânâ (qaddasa ‘llâhu sirra-hu)

The fasting month has been a test for the powerful and the lowly.
Don’t ask, ‘How?’ For it has come from the Incomparable.
It is a day that has come from beyond the heavens.
Blessing comes from it that is increasing day by day.
Hazrat-é Mawlânâ (qaddasa ‘llâhu sirra-hu)

The Islamic fast is like a sieve that sifts the soul,
For it brings hidden particles [of gold] into view.
It is a ‘goblet’ that darkens the shining moon,
And when it is unveiled, it gives light to the seventh heaven.
Hazrat-é Mawlânâ (qaddasa ‘llâhu sirra-hu)
