LAILATUL-BARA'AT - THE BLESSED NIGHT OF ABSULUTION OF SINS

The night of Bara'at falls upon the 5th of August this year. Allah Ta'ala has, due to his infinite grace and mercy, presented to His bondsmen some special occasions wherein they have a golden opportunity of earning the mercy and forgiveness of Allah. Some explicit examples of these special occasions are the month of Ramadan and Laylatul Qadr. In the same mould is the fifteenth night of Sha'baan. Several Ahaadith extol the tremendous merit of this occasion. Amongst them is the fact that countless people are forgiven by Allah during this blessed night. It is due to this reason that this night is called "The night of Bara'at". On this night the Doors of Mercy and Forgiveness are opened wide, and those who sincerely grieve over and repent for their past sins and seek forgiveness from Allah are pardoned and forgiven by the Grace of Allah the Merciful. May Allah forgive our all sins in the Night of Shab-e-Bara'at and guide us on the path of the Ambiya and the Awliya. Aameen.

The call of the griefless is from a frozen heart, the call of the grieving one is from rapture

Lift up in prayer a broken hand: the loving kindness of God flies towards the broken.

Verily, who shall knock at this Door, from which mercy is showered, without gaining in response a hundred springs (seasons of spiritual refreshment)?

When God bestows bounty on those who supplicate Him in their need, together with His gift He bestows on them a long life.

May this noble occasion be favorable and blessed! May good things be disclosed!

May our bara’at be accepted

May evils be (kept) distant! May the Lord of Glorious Rank cause our hearts to be full of light and radiance by the Light of His Essence! May our needy supplications be accepted and approved in the Court of (Divine) Majesty! May (our) moments (of blessing) (and our spiritual) joys be increased! And may the hearts of the lovers (of God) be opened (wide)! (For the sake of) the (blessed) words of our Venerable Master, the secret of Shams, the nobility of Imâm `Ali, and the favor of Muhammad the unlettered Prophet (and) mercy to (the beings of) the worlds [21:107], let us say: "Hû!"
