Iran's legendary vocalist Mohammad-Reza Shajarian is planning to hold a four day concert at the Konevi Cultural Center as a part of the week’s program at the 736th Commemoration of Hz. Mawlana’s Reunion with the Beloved which will be held from December 7th – 17th in Konya, Turkey.
Shajarian will perform the concert accompanied by the Shahnaz ensemble and upon an invitation by the International Mevlana Foundation. The 69-year-old vocalist will perform traditional Persian compositions inspired by Hz. Mevlâna’s poetry and quatrains.
The four-day concert will be held from Dec. 12th – 16th 2009 at the Konevi Cultural Center.
Mohammad Reza Shajarian received UNESCO's Mozart Medal in 2006 and the 1999 prestigious Golden Picasso Medal among other awards. He has also designed and built a number of new string instruments; namely the Sorahi, Saghar, Kereshmeh and Tondar.
